  • Traditional Dating VS Modern Dating

Is traditional dating better than modern dating? How does modern dating differ from the traditional way of dating? Are they somehow similar in some other ways or completely different?

  • #2
I don't think that the traditional way of dating is still being practice to this day, everything is modern and it is way better than I expect it to be. Modern dating involves the use of technology, especially smartphones and having dating apps in it to make it easier for us to find potential dates.

Mimsywas1 so, which of these two would you choose? I was expecting an answer from you but right now it is like you're implying that modern dating is way better than the traditional one, am I correct? Well, I am fond of searching for dates using mobile apps as well and I think that we're on the same page right now.

The means are the only differences. Modern or traditional, it would still end up as a date. Only the modes are different.

The traditional way of dating is still practiced today. When you met your date at your workplace, then that is a traditional way of dating. You won't say to that person: "Let us contact each other using this dating app."

Well, I've experienced what it's like dating back in the days, yes the traditional way of dating. Guys will usually court me just to see if they could win my heart before telling them yes that I would accept him as my boyfriend. It was a great experience and I hope they can somehow bring it back to the modern way of dating so that the young generation would know what it's like dating back in my days too.

I haven't experienced much of that traditional way of courting and/or dating? I guess I'll have to share a bit of my traditional way of dating (experiences), I've tried dating a friend and a coworker before. I'm into simple dates like going out for movies, or visit a local art museum, and get to talk by the beach during sunset.

Both traditional and modern ways of dating are okay for me, we all know how things have changed throughout the ages. Since change is inevitable and now all we have is the modern way of dating, then I guess this is better than experiencing it in a traditional way.

The modern way of dating is easy, you can click and meet then jump to the next. Dating made very easy, right? Then again, I don't know what could possibly be the next kind of dating strategy it is soon for us to discover.

Ucchala there would be more dating apps to be developed very soon and things will become more advanced. So, I've always wondered, will porn become too techy as well? Like how people usually masturbate online, right? Would there be an easy app to virtually fuck somebody using our smartphones as well? Lol.

Whether that started as traditional or modern, there are no differences. It would still be a date at the end.

But do you think that the date would last long if it were the traditional way? Because I don't think that a modern way of dating would last long as it is expected to be.

Only the mode of knowing each other is the difference that I could think of. In modern dating, you would use the Internet. In traditional dating, you would use your contacts like friends, workmates and acquaintances.

For me, I think the modern dating is so much beetter than the traditional. I don't usually feel liek ending up with my friends, acquaintances, or even workmates. I like it better if we started out as strangers online. There would be more adventures if I get to visit where he is and he will do the same for me.

lindseysexy Ahh, those were the good old days! It's hard to keep in contact with the person that you are planning to date. Sometimes you needed help with some friends or acquaintances that knows that person too.

For me, either way is good. People have tried both and it will all depend on the person on how she or he can handle this whole dating situation. You can do traditional dating for today's generation and see what the results may be or you can also try the modern way of dating which most people would be able to understand.

I think it would nice if people of today should also try what it feels like dating in a traditional way. How people used to meet up during first dates, how guys usually court women back then, and how it feels like meeting up with the parents to win the hands of their daughters.

I think that the traditional way of dating is better than modern. The traditional way is more sincere/genuine kind of dating than it is today, which is the modern dating. It's sad to think that most people want it the fast and easy way that is why they often break up the fast and easy way possible too, lol.

An instant date could all lead up to an instant breakup, lol, that's a good one! Though, it is true that if things were rushed, the outcome will not be good. I wish we can go back to how dating really was, the traditional way which is way better than it is today.

But one thing's for sure is that most people would prefer the modern way of dating. Why? Because with the help of technology, everything is made easy for you and for your date-hunting spree lol.

For me, modern dating is way better than the traditional one. Because with the help of dating apps you can easily find a partner who are into the same things as you. Rather than before you would have to do some research or get to know her really well if the two of you are into the same thing

Do you think that talking about your common interests directly is way better than getting to know the person in the traditional way

  • #10
I think no matter what the style if you like mixing it up it's fine you are the one on the date
not someone else so just go with the flow don't think of anything else but yourself because
it is you having the date

But what do you prefer, dating in the old fashioned way or not?

  • #11
It all depends on the person really. For those who are not willing to exert much effort, the modern way is easier because of the help of countless dating apps and sites out there. But there are still some who enjoy the chase so to speak

    • #12
I prefer to have a bit of both. Find a girl via apps or sites and we end up seeing each other in person I would do it the old fashioned way
